Theater Camp in conjunction with the 

East Longmeadow Recreation Department!

SING! DANCE! ACT!  will partner this summer with ELRD to offer a unique theater experience!

WHEN:   Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday:  June 30th-August 6th

Wednesday, August 6th will be 10-5:00 - see below 

10-12 rehearsal,   12-1 lunch and games,   1-4 dress rehearsal,   4-5, pizza and awards

5:30 - presentation for family, friends, and community!


WHERE:  First Congregational Church at the rotary, East Longmeadow

TIME:  10 am - 12 pm (except for 8/6 - see above)

WHO:  Children in Grades 3-5 (currently)


Sing! Dance! Act! Mission Statement


 The mission of SDA is to provide young people with a creative outlet to express themselves in order to:

  

* Build confidence and self-esteem

* Develop partnership and teamwork skills

* Engage in fun and wholesome activities

* Participate in the creative process with peers

PROGRAM OVERVIEW:  Participants will be playing acting games, singing, learning movement, reading lines from a play script, and working together to present a short production for family and community on the final Wednesday of the program.

SAMPLE DAY:

10-10:20:   Circle Time - opening meeting and greetings, play "Try Not To Laugh"

10:20-10:30:  Physical warm-ups to music

10:30-11:00:  Read through play script, choosing different participants to read lines

11:00-11:20:   Learn and Sing opening number in the play

11:20-11:45:   Learn and work on choreography for the opening number

11:45-12:00:  Circle Time - closing group bonding game and preview of tomorrow's agenda

Deb Salli - Biography

Deb is a retired public school teacher.  Deb has a Bachelor's in Music Education and a Master's in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on Music.   She is a MA Certified, K-12 Educator.  

Deb taught music and drama for 34 years in Ludlow, Springfield, and finally, Chicopee.  She wrote, directed, choreographed, and produced many shows at all age levels during this time.   She plays guitar and piano/keyboard and is an accomplished vocalist.  She has worked as a Music and Choir Director at several churches in the local area, including First Congregational Church in East Longmeadow. 

Deb continues to work as a music director for public and private schools, college clubs, and community theater organizations.
